Mark Spoors set up Big Red Management a month before England’s Rugby World Cup victory in Australia in 2003. Upon realising that he was never going to be ‘hard’ enough to excel as a professional rugby player, Mark launched himself in to athlete management and has never looked back. Having spent the first 3 years working for sports management companies IMG & Sports Masters International, Mark has been in the industry longer than most of his competitors. He has managed seven international captains and negotiated over £30m worth of contracts, with a client list that boasts world class players from all over the UK. 

Mark is now attempting to be a ‘grown up’, the recent birth of his first son Leo seems to have brought out Marks inner child even more so than before, good luck to you Mrs Spoors! With an unforgettable persona, ‘Big Red’ has built up a sterling reputation within the rugby community and is highly recommended by anyone he has worked with.

Louise Dommel

Commercial Director

Louise Dommel has been an integral part of the Big Red team from pretty much the start, having recently been promoted to Commercial Director in July 2010. Before moving down to London, Lou was brought up in Cheshire and then went on to study Media and Marketing at De Montfort University in Leicester. As a key player and committee member of her University Rugby Club it only seemed a natural progression to embark on a career within the sport. Combining this with experience in corporate incentive travel, hospitality and event management, Lou was the perfect candidate to lead the commercial team at Big Red.

Lou has worked with all of the major stakeholders and brands in rugby, securing some top commercial deals as well as booking high profile appearances. Louise is the best at what she does in the industry. With her number on speed dial in everyone of our clients phones, Lou is always in high demand. Louise has only ever excelled in her role at the company and is a great asset to the Big Red Team.

Peter Harmsworth

Player Agent

Peter Harmsworth joined Big Red Management after the Rugby World Cup in France in 2007 as part of the player management team. Having previously worked in a South African sports management company as well as the hospitality and media worlds, ‘Pistol’ Pete has built an excellent reputation within the industry.

Pete manages an array of rugby stars from the likes of Alex Cuthbert and Jamie Roberts as well as established Premiership stars such as Calum Clark and Billy Twelvetrees. He has also proved over the years that he has a great eye for spotting the best young players making their way in the game.

Leigh Hinton

Player Agent

After 10 years of professional rugby, Leigh Hinton has now hung up his boots and joined Big Red as our latest player manager. Throughout his career Leigh has gained the respect of fellow players and coaches alike for his well rounded attitude both on and off the field. Stuart Lancaster is quoted as saying "Leigh is a proven points scorer both with his boot and as a try scorer, and his experience will be excellent for our younger players to work with."

Having played in both England and Wales, Leigh understands the demands of the Premiership and Rabo Direct Pro 12 League, and not to mention the pressures of being a professional sportsmen. Leigh’s recent exit from rugby has further added to the ethos that Big Red has towards the modern game, ensuring we continue to keep our finger on the pulse with players needs. Leigh also has a wealth of experience with the media having worked with the Telegraph, Sky Sports and the BBC.

Away from rugby Leigh has a keen interest in all sports and any spare time can be found on the golf course.

Rachael Bradshaw

Account and PR Executive

Rachael joined the team as a permanent member in August 2010, she hit the ground running assisting the commercial team, working on key accounts and ensuring that all events in and around the office run smoothly. After graduating from the University of Birmingham with a BSc Hons degree in Sport and Exercise Science, she had a jam packed year, including charity work in Kenya, a ski season and a PR focused internship based in London. On returning from her travels Rachael joined Big Red as a fresh faced intern. She then went on to work for UR7s and the National Sevens Series as part of the logistics team throughout the summer of 2010,  before once again returning to Big Red Towers.

Catherine Gair

Player PA and Office Administrator

Originally from Australia, Catherine joins the Big Red team as Lewis Moody's PA and the Office Assistant. A keen follower of sports, including Aussie Rules, her interest in rugby with its similar values of teamwork and respect grew when she moved to London. This interest developed further while working for Eden Park, a French fashion label with a proud rugby heritage. Catherine's previous experience crosses the fashion, finance and the heritage sectors during which time she supported busy teams in achieving their goals. It is her goal to apply that same commitment to helping the Big Red team and its clients with their continued success.

Donald Adams

Financial Controller

Donald Adams joined Big Red in 2007 to take up a new role as financial controller. Having previously overseen Sweatshop as financial controller, they grew from 3 stores with a turnover of £2m when he joined in ’91, to 27 stores with a turnover of £11m when he left in ’05. ‘Big D’ has also worked in sports management at Advantage International (Octagon). He did his accountancy training at Menzies & then joined the tax department of Deloittes. Being the most senior member of the team by some distance, Donald brings the ‘grey haired approach’ to our business and has been integral to Big Red’s continued success. In his spare time, D attempts to play golf and is amazing at tennis, or so we’ve heard 5th hand.
