Alex Cuthbert braced for the Italian job
Welsh winger Alex Cuthbert has welcomed Cardiff Blues' start to the season as they prepare for Saturday's visit of Treviso.
The Blues came away from their derby clash against the Dragons with a 5-16 win and will be looking to push on with a victory over the Italians.
And Cuthbert, 22, has started the season with a bang, scoring a try in the narrow defeat to Edinburgh as well as crossing at Rodney Parade.
"I'm more than happy with the team's performances and hopefully we can keep getting the wins," he said. "Obviously if we keep playing well it helps me personally but it's all about the team and we've got a happy camp at the moment."
With nine points from three games, it has been a solid start to the season for the Blues under the leadership of new Director of Rugby Phil Davies.
A 9-13 win away to Connacht saw the Blues off to a good start before Greg Laidlaw's late drop goal secured victory for Edinburgh at the Arms Park. But the win over the Dragons has left Cuthbert and the rest of the Blues camp confident for the clash with Treviso.
The Italians have enjoyed a successful start to their RaboDirect PRO12 campaign with victory over the Ospreys on the opening weekend while only a last gasp drop goal from Jonny Sexton saw Leinster claim victory in Treviso last weekend.
"Treviso are very big up front and they're tough to beat but I think we know how to beat them, especially at the Arms Park," added Cuthbert.
