Alun Wyn Jones looking forward to tough Leicester clash
Ospreys skipper Alun Wyn Jones reckons Leicester Tigers will be “baying for blood” in the Heineken Cup this weekend.
The Ospreys got their latest European campaign off to a flyer with a 38-17 bonus point triumph over Treviso in Swansea last Friday night.
But it will be a whole lot tougher on Sunday as Leicester – beaten 23-9 by four-time champions Toulouse in their Pool Two opener – seek to punish the Ospreys after being held 32-32 by the Welsh region at Welford Road three years ago.
“We know the size of the Leicester challenge. We’ve been up there and drawn there, so we know we’ve come close in the past,” said Jones."
“We realise the quality they have, the kicking game and the forward pack."
“They’re the complete package and they’ll be baying for blood because they probably feel they’ve under-achieved in this competition for a while."
“So we’re very aware of the threat they pose, especially at home.”
